What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup achieved through manually inserting pigment into the upper layers of skin. This is created by drawing individual eyebrow hairs with a hand-held tool to create the look of a perfect natural eyebrow. With microblading we are able to fill in any sparse areas, correct brow shape that is uneven or higher/lower on one brow, and add fronts or tails or even arches to your eyebrows.
Who is microblading good for?
Anyone who desires better looking, low maintenance brows. Clients of all ages, gender, and lifestyles seek microblading. Results are waterproof, smudgeproof, and more realistic than filling in eyebrows every day. It’s perfect for women who have over plucked their eyebrows or just want fuller looking brows without having to fill them in everyday. Your brows finally won’t wash off when you go swimming or get them wet in the rain, plus you’ll save 10 minutes a day!
How long does it last?
The effect can last 12-18 months with proper aftercare. The pigment slowly fades and leaves you with your natural brows. Oilier skin types may notice fading faster, as will lighter colored brows. If you want to ensure you always have perfect brows, plan to come in for a yearly session (which is at a reduced rate), every 10-12 months.
How many treatments are needed?
1-2 treatments spaced within 4-6 weeks is usually needed. At the first session we will decide the shape and correct any deficiencies your brows have. A second complimentary refreshing session is sometimes needed and is included in the cost. At this second session (completed 4-6 weeks after the first) we will take a look at how your brows healed, assess color retention, and make adjustments if necessary. The refreshing session is perfect if you want to go darker or add density to brows.
Does it hurt?
We use a 5% numbing solution on the brows for 20-30 minutes before commencing treatment. More numbing solution will be applied after the first pass to ensure comfort throughout the entire session. Most clients are surprised at how little they feel during their treatment.
What is the healing process like?
When you first leave your session your brows will be darker and slightly more pronounced up to a week after the procedure. Over time this will lighten and soften about 30-50% during the healing process. The more you adhere to proper aftercare, the better your results will be.
How long is the procedure?
At the beginning of the appointment we will have a consultation to go over any questions you may have. Your brows will be numbed for during this time then we can begin pre-drawing your new brows. After you agree to the size and shape of the brows we will begin microblading. The entire appointment will last approximately 2-2.5 hours.
What if I am currently pregnant or nursing?
You will have to wait until you are done nursing to have microblading due to possible risks.
